Alcohol and Other Drugs

We aspire to be an inclusive organisation where people of all ages (including children and young people), faiths and backgrounds feel welcome. As such we are an alcohol and drug free workplace. Any events we organise will be free of alcohol and other recreational drugs to ensure they are inclusive and safe to children and young people, those of faith, those who struggle with addiction, and anyone else who may feel uncomfortable around alcohol and other recreational drugs due to personal history.

We may occasionally organise events outside the office, e.g. dinner gatherings at restaurants, where alcohol is available for purchase. In these cases we ask that ATT members and contributors refrain from consuming alcohol. As much as possible, we avoid organising events in pubs or other places which primarily serve alcohol.

Our social events are also alcohol/drug free. If spontaneous or planned socialising takes place after an official event or action, we request members to prioritise inclusivity of all involved and consider making the event a no alcohol/drug space if that allows people to participate who otherwise might not.

Informal socialising that happens between members at a personal level away from the workplace, events and actions are not mediated by this policy.

Members meeting external parties are not mediated by this policy if all ATT members are above the legal limit, and all consent.
