Note: our scanner may only be compatible with Windows devices.

(1) Connect the scanner’s USB cable to the USB port on your device

(2) Download and install drivers and software to run the scanner on your device

  • Go to

  • Enter the region and product information as per the image below

  • Download the latest driver. As of 2020 the latest driver is V6.1.0.0

  • A file will download titled “OpticBook_3800_V6100_12L”. Once downloaded, unzip this file.

  • Click into the newly unzipped folder titled OpticBook_3800_V6100_12L, and run Setup.exe.

  • An animation will come up - click Skip.

  • Follow the setup instructions. When prompted, keep the boxes ticked for DocTwain, Book Pavilion and WIA Driver. Continue with setup.

  • Wait for the setup to complete, then restart your computer when prompted. You should now have everything you need installed to run the scanner, including Book Pavilion, the scanner’s software.

How To Scan Documents

  • While the scanner is connected, open Book Pavilion. You might find the shortcut to Book Pavilion hidden in your task bar.

  • Fill out the settings as appropriate for your document - you will need to add a file name depending on the document you are scanning.

  • Place your document on the scanner - the side to be scanned should face down onto the scanner glass. Close the scanner.

  • Press one of the scanner buttons (Colour, Greyscale or B/W) to scan the document.

  • If you are scanning only one page, click “Transfer” in Book Pavilion and your scan will be saved in the Book Pavilion folder on your computer.

  • If you wish to scan multiple pages in one document:

    • After the first page has scanned, simply swap in the next page, close the scanner, and press the scanner button again. The next page will scan and appear in Book Pavilion.

    • Repeat as appropriate.

  • Once all your pages are scanned, click “Transfer” in Book Pavilion and your scan will be saved in the Book Pavilion folder on your computer.
